North America is represented by the University of the Arts, located in Philadelphia, PA, USA. A random email arrived in my inbox offering up the potential opportunity to collaborate on a film with other universities around the world. As Animation Program Director at my school, I jumped at the opportunity to work with such classic music and the ideals behind Brian May’s organization. We offer a Client Animation class that works with non-profits to create content to gain an understanding of the communication and back and forth between clients and creators and this project seemed to be a perfect fit for this class.

Students arrived on the first day with a 45 second clip from the music in hand and the task to generate ideas which would be run through Matteo to finalize an approach. This process was all remote as we adapted our workflow to a Covid dominated world. We formed two groups, led by students (water/land), that then saw through the realization and completion of the project. We were extremely happy to be a part of this wonderful video and students look forward to including their work on their reels as they head into their careers.
