Project Amazing Grace Co-Ordinator

This is a unique opportunity for you to support hedgehogs through our Amazing Grace Project. This job would suit anyone with a passion for hedgehog. Hedgehog numbers are in steep decline.  Awareness and surveys are a vital  tool to aid us in supporting hedgehog populations. The results and trends can help us better understand our spiky friend.

6-Month Fixed Term Contract

Hours: 8am – 4pm – flexi hours available 

Salary: £10,600

Annual Leave: 10 days leave 

Overall purpose of the job 

To promote Project Amazing Grace

To coordinate and support survey volunteers to undertake surveys

To organise and head zoom meetings with existing and new volunteer surveyors.

To correlate survey data onto a spreadsheet 

To organise events from our template

Main Duties 

Give our Amazing Grace Survey presentations via zoom

Support and coordinate existing surveyors and recruit more surveyors through our online presentations and social media 

Communicate with our survey volunteers via WhatsApp on a mobile and emails (mobile phone supplied by us)

Correlate data onto an excel spreadsheet.

Be responsible data being collected and for survey tunnels and equipment 

Co-ordinate the collection of tunnels and kits and prepare survey kits for the year and ensure that survey equipment is topped up for surveyors to access independently.

Communicate with land owners via email to co-ordinate survey volunteers.

Customer Care 

To attend to the needs of general public in a professional manner, and to liaise with landowners and press

Attend to the needs of surveyors by dealing promptly and respectfully with emails and any WhatsApp messages.

To physically undertake some surveys yourself as required to ensure that the project runs efficiently, on time and to budget.

Essential Skills and Abilities Required

Competent on a computer

Accurate record keeping.

Competent using excel spreadsheets.

Able to respond concisely and courteously to email enquiries.

Confident on zoom, a good communicator and active listener.

Able to work in a team, but also on your own initiative as required.

Ensure suitable levels of stock and stock rotation.

Deal with the general public, educational organisations via the telephone/email in a professional manner.

What to expect 

Every day will bring different challenges.

The job can be physically demanding. You’ll be on your feet in parts and will need to move survey tunnels for collection.

Practice hygiene tasks, including disinfecting tunnels and ensuring that they are in a suitable condition for reallocation.

Organise event but communicating with venues on email 

Support social media 

General 

Support and work effectively with survey volunteers and the wider team within the wildlife rescue

Ensure equipment stored on site is secure and the premises are maintained in an organised and hygienic manner.

Support and work effectively with the survey volunteers

To participate and organise in some of the Grace days as arranged in advance including weekends
